Yogi Aikam Aikoham Nath Ji
Spiritual Journey
In the Beginning

I come from a humble army background and a traditional Sikh family. With no knowledge of Mantra, Tantra, Sadhana, or Mandala.
In my household, there was only Guru Nanak Dev Ji, a highly revered Sikh Master. As a child, I always wanted to ask if Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born from a human womb like us. I wondered what must have taken place for him to find that eureka moment of god realisation. My inner quest to find that Eureka for myself grew throughout my life, And this desire, this yearning to know God, purified me in my search.

I had no idea about meditation and would just sit because my soul felt very happy. There were no prayers, invocations or expectations, no asking, just nothing. This is why I say, "Nature reveals its secrets to those who surrender."

At age 4

I experienced a strange light coming and striking the middle of my forehead and eyebrow area. Feeling scared, I would shake and wake up, which happened almost every time I slept. My mother got worried and took me to the hospital, thinking something was wrong with her child. The doctor said everything was normal, but this didn't stop, and over time, I became quieter and quieter, feeling as if I didn't belong to the world.

At age 9

I witnessed my first miracle. Coming from a Sikh family, my mother used to recount the Japji Sahib prayer daily. Which was a small booklet in Punjabi that I did not know how to read as my schooling was in Hindi & English. I asked my parents if I could have the booklet in Hindi to recite. The answer was 'No' during a conversation at 9 o'clock in the morning. We had a big front yard with a beautiful yellow flower garden. Around 3 o'clock in the afternoon, I saw pages sitting on the flower bed. Which, to my surprise, was the Japji Sahib in Hindi! I was very excited and bound all the pages together, which became the first time I recited Japji sahib in Hindi.

At age 11

I was struck with appendicitis and taken to the operating theatre. Typically, this kind of operation is finished within half an hour. However, this operation took six hours and became my first out-of-body experience. I saw my soul being taken up onto pure white luminous light and I found myself in the Guru mandala, the realm of ascended masters.
Here I could see the souls talking to each other, but there was no sound. There were no faces, but I could make out the images of individual masters. I was asked if I would be willing to give up this body for one of the masters to inhabit, which I agreed to. I then witnessed my physical body being operated on upon the surgeon's table. With a new higher purpose now activated in my being, I woke up to a slap on the face and the sounds of doctors talking in the operating room. I opened my eyes and saw the doctors trying to revive my body, as my appendix had burst.

From then on, I became very detached from life.
I would wash my own clothes, Eat what was given and became very accepting of whatever life presented. As a teenager, I was aloof, cut off, and felt very lost. And the memory of the operation and visit to Guru mandala vanished.

Life as a householder

Later in life, after graduation and successful job placement, I married and became immersed in my worldly responsibilities. We moved to New Zealand, where I developed a pervading sense of anticipation that something was going to happen. I would toss and turn all night, unable to sleep, feeling something was 'knocking at the door.' It was a sensation I could never shake off, and sleep never came. One night I instinctively decided to sit in front of my altar. I had no idea what to do, but it just felt right.

During this period, when meditating, I would place a bowl of water on my altar. Which I would then take a spoonful of. One day, after my meditation, to my surprise, I discovered that this water had turned sweet, like Amrit Nectar! This astonished me and invoked a lot of interest. How could the same plain water become so sweet?

Things began to change in the household. Family members became increasingly unhappy with my meditative practice. I became unhappy, taken for granted, and condemned for my chosen path.
I had lost my will to live and felt powerless to change. As in my younger days in college, I had such a zest for life. I was an all-India level athlete- running 20km sometimes twice a week. Now, in my non-vegetarian life, enjoying my daily drink and listening to rap songs, I couldn't even walk a few steps without losing my breath. I began to feel a transformation come over me. Instinctively, I turned to Shabad, kirtan and forms of devotional mantra. I just ate sabji on the roti with my hands and drank plain water from the tap. And then, one day, something extraordinary happened.

Awakening of the light within.

That midwinter in NZ, at about 3 in the afternoon, the sunlight began to spill into my room. I gazed deeply into the golden light. Gradually, it turned black, and from black, it changed to red, green, then blue, and narrowed down to settle in my third eye. Slowly as I watched, my inner voice told me to sit down and close my eyes. As I did so, the sun rose up my spine and settled in my Sahasrara or Brahmarandhra, commonly known as the crown chakra area. This occasion marked the beginning of my inner journey.

After this experience, my sleep patterns changed dramatically.
From previously sleeping 8 hours per night, I was now only sleeping 2 to 3 hours with, at times, no sleep at all. It was during this time that I had my first encounter or darshan with Shiva (Bholebaba). As Shiv appeared, I saw the Ghungroo (ankle bells). Shiva lovingly picked me up, took me into the upper realms and then asked, "what do you want"? I said I just want to see how you run the universe. Bholebaba then proceeded to show me the hidden secrets of the universe. Mahavatar Babaji also appeared to me at this time, but I did not know who this person was. I had no idea that the Deathless Yogi is Mahavatarji.

As I was spending more time in meditation, my days as a householder became even more challenging. During my meditative contemplations, I was reminded of the out-of-body experience where I promised to hand over my life in service to the masters and mankind. As soon as I recollected my promise, the Guru Mandala appeared before me and blessed me. I remembered the experience of becoming the space, of being the space and nothing else. I remembered the divine Maa Tripura Sundari awakening within, followed by her army of Ma Bhaglamukhi, Ma Kaali, and Bholebaba. from this point on, my Yogic journey in this lifetime began.

The Himalayan Calling

When I arrived back in my motherland of India, Mahavatar Babaji again appeared and initiated me into the Kriya lineage of Lahiri Mahasaya ji and Paramahansa Yogananda ji through the appearance of a yogi who showed me specific asanas and pranayam (breathwork), which I was asked to practise in my own time. I was deeply humbled by such grace to receive the Omkar Shakti Kriya. Giving me the rare ability to transfer powerful healing energies to other humans and burn away negative karmas from one's life through the energetic transmission known as Shaktipat.

Meetings with various masters kept manifesting. I met Yogi Baba from Durgapur Garh Jungle, a great yogi from whom I received the Hatha Yog.
One day I was meditating on the Dhuni (holy site of Shakti) on the day of Gurupurnima in the Eastern Jungles of Durgapur when suddenly Kapil Muni Maharaj appeared. But only I could see him, and the others had no idea. But we spoke for hours…it was beautiful.
Noticing what was emerging from within me, my masters bestowed ever deeper practices and ancient secrets of the sacred science of god-realisation. Upon Receiving ongoing initiations and transmissions from my masters, the journey of yogic realisation flourished.
I met Barfarni Baba Ji in the foothills of Manimahesh, the Himalayas, who initiated me into Ardhnarishwar sadhana.

I have had many experiences travelling through the Jungles and Himalayas and into my cave with its deep mysticism.
I have encountered Pishachi, the Dakini witch on the other side of the universe. Bholebaba took me to all the seven upper realms and travelled to the seven lower realms, Tal, Bhutal, Sutal, Vetal, Rasatal, Talatal, and Patal. I was shown Pitra Dosh and the soul's journey of reincarnates and how it travels level to level, evolving and gaining new experiences and wisdom. I was given this understanding to witness the evolution of my own soul.

So much continues to take place in my life. My body and breath are now serving the universe as I have committed my life to help people find the truth. The world is experiencing a lot of self-created hypnotism. Sound healing, crystal healing therapies, channelling, energy work, etc., and the feel-good factor of chakra balancing and pseudo-breathwork are all going on. These practices have nothing to do with the truth.
My only role is to guide people on the path of universal truth to the source; if somebody wants to learn something else about what's written, they can seek that. But for me, if you have yet to realise the truth, then your purpose is still ongoing. We all must discover the truth and what truth is. This is our purpose "Satyam Shivam Sundaram!"

As a sincere Sādhak devoted to the path, many secrets are revealed naturally. Some say you must chant a mantra 10 million times or even 100 million times for it to become alive. However, my first mantra got activated after only chanting 5 times, Ma Durga Mantra, Ma Kaali Mantra, Ganesh ji Mantra, Guru Mantra…
All this can happen when the grace is upon you.
If you are genuine in your heart and sincere in your seeking,
just one breath is enough to activate God.
